Overcoming Fears To Climb The Ladder of Success in life and do it with Confidence

When it comes to trying something new, our hopes, values, determination and dreams are shaken up, with the fear of losing. But why? Have you ever realized what it is that stops us?

Is it:

  • public opinions?
  • the judgements of our family, friends or spouse?
  • our family has high expectations of us?
  • the risk of our future?
  •

FEAR is an emotion that keeps us away from heading towards our goals. It keeps us alive but dead inside. To overcome fears temporarily, people get dependent on a 9 to 5 job. Because pursuing dreams requires faith in self. The burden of that emotion keeps us away from self-improvement, which has to be broken.

(In this blog I will tell you about my success mantra of overcoming fears and accomplish goals)

    Eliminate negativity from your minds.

Negative thoughts are the major reason for fear, of losing. We lack self-confidence and it makes us procrastinate negatively over the things that we have been planning for so long. So to help you out of it, I’m sharing two beautiful ideas from two amazing books:

  • “If you want to change how you see your problems, you have to change what you value or how you measure failure and success”, I read this in a book by Mark Manson. He gave the most significant advice to remove the toxic thoughts from our minds that pulls us away from our goals.
  • Jay Shetty in his book ‘Think Like A Monk’, has emphasized on three terms: Spot, Stop, Swap.
  • Spot is to be aware of the negative and toxic impulses around you.
  • Stop is noticing what is arousing your negativity, an Australian community worker Neil Barringham said, ‘the grass is greener where you water it’, which means, stop when it feels enervating.
  • Swap is a new way of processing. Radhanath Swami a spiritual teacher of Jay Shetty told him, that “there is toxicity everywhere around us, it is in the people’s hearts. If we create purity in our own hearts, then we can contribute great purity to the world”, which means we release what we absorb.

Embrace risk-taking, it makes you confident.

Have you ever wondered, why most businesses fail and most of them take a flight? It is because of risks. Risk takers are happier and satisfied in life because they do not keep regrets of not trying, they simply go for it, beyond their fears. If it turns out to be a disaster they analyse it and correct their mistakes.

Not taking risks has a notion of a boring life, where we refuse the proven facts of changes and dwell into the illusion of living satisfactorily. Not all risks are good enough to bring success, but it does bring you another opportunity to correct and create where you did wrong. You can always go back to any job, so why be afraid of changes.

Face it, tune your actions into the effectiveness

To face fears we have to get comfortable with the consequences that we might be facing in future.

Even a diamond has to go under a lot of stress and processes. We all fear something, such as going on stage, presenting at University or office, competition or even sky diving, etc. Instead of suffocating we need to get up and show up. Who will believe in us when we are disappointed in self?

Here are a few points that you have to implement in your life:

  • Keep a tally of how many times you’ve failed in life and at which stage you lack, the more aware you are the freer you will be from your fears.
  • Imply the Japanese concept (Yin and Yang) of balancing darkness and light to take control of your emotions, the burden breaks us apart, so keep it balanced.
  • Nana Korobi, Ya Oki, a Japanese concept, meaning ‘Falling down seven times, getting up eight’. Develop an attitude that no one can break your spirits.
  •

Think a bit on your schedule, is it making you disciplined and consistent or just lethargic? What is it that you are gravitating towards?

In my opinion, write down a mission statement in a note and pin it somewhere. Including values, goals and dreams. This exercise will reflect your purpose in life. Trust me it works, your expectations of self, can be worked on and improved. Just like removing the deviations from a process.

FEAR, if challenged will make you adoptive to any situation”.
